My river is only showing ~24 hours of posts. Expected?

Hello,

Is it expected that I cannot see all of the posts of my feeds? My river tab has only been showing ~24 hours of entries and then ends with no way to fetch more items.

If it’s not expected I can try resetting my account and you can ignore the rest of this message.

If this is expected I encourage reconsidering this. My natural workflow with RSS fits Current well in that I don’t worry about unread counts or get stressed by not reading everything. But this freedom goes away if I can’t ever access old posts and I’m not confident I can see/find my content. Now all of a sudden I feel like I have to process everything or else I’ll never be able to become aware of the content later if I have time.

I’m amazed at Current so far, great work!

Hi and thanks for joining! This is sort of expected, sort of not. When you first add the feeds we don’t back populate because in testing I saw that nobody really wants to be overwhelmed with 1,000+ posts the first time they use the app. Going forward this should become better for you - can you check in a day or so and let me know if things appear to be working as expected?

Oh, one thing you can try is to change one of the sources showing limited content to a person. That will force a 7+ day fetch for previous things. This probably isn’t a great solution to do en masse, but it should resolve any anxiety about if the app actually fetches your things or not

I am seeing this as well. The oldest item in my river is from 14 hours ago. If I switch to a current, that seems to be more respectful of the age of content… I have currents where the oldest article is from 3 days ago.

Unfortunately I can report that after a few days the oldest item in my river is currently from 15 hours ago and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything older than 17 hours. So something seems definitely off. I hope you can eventually figure out what’s up. I’ll keep checking on updates and report back if you want. If there’s any debugging info I can send or if you need me to file a proper bug somewhere I’m happy to help.

Best,

Rob

I’ve tracked this down to an icloud issue. I’ve spent the past 3 or 4 days head down re-building the entire icloud sync mechanism and this should be resolved once the update hits.

Awesome and yikes. I hope the launch isn’t too stressful. Please don’t burn yourself out! I appreciate the update and look forward to it when it’s available.
